【AS-BioTReC】Cordially invites you to attend a lecture by Prof. Jun Suzuki at Kyoto University on March 19, 2025
Professor Jun Suzuki is a leading expert in cell membrane biology. Cells maintain an asymmetrical distribution of ions and lipids across membranes, dynamically altering these distributions to adapt to environmental changes. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating lipids remained unknown for decades.
Through unbiased screening approaches, he identified the long-sought phospholipid scramblases. His research has revealed how cells regulate lipid distribution across membranes and how their defects cause human diseases. Over the past 15 years, his groundbreaking discoveries, published in Nature, Science, PNAS, Molecular Cell, and Nature Communications, have laid the foundation for innovative therapeutic strategies.
In this seminar, he will present his journey from fundamental discoveries in membrane biology to their potential applications in human health.
Time: 10:00 am, March 19, 2025 (Wednesday) (Registration will start at 9:30)
Venue: C212 Lecture Room, 2nd floor, Building C, National Biotechnology Research Park (Address: No. 99, Aly 130, Sec. 1, Academia Rd., Nangang District, Taipei City 11571, Taiwan)
